Fort McMurray, AB, August 7, 2024 – Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) is thrilled to announce a generous $250,000 donation from Syncrude, operated by Suncor, to advance the recently launched $3 million INCredible! Campaign. 

The INCredible Campaign supports Arts INC, a purpose-built arts centre in the heart of downtown Fort McMurray. A creative and economic powerhouse, Arts INC is bolstered by Syncrude’s significant leadership investment. 

With over 45 years of operation, Syncrude’s contributions to Wood Buffalo have significantly enriched the region, enhancing its appeal as an ideal place to live and raise a family. This dedication is exemplified by their support of Arts INC. 

“Arts INC adds capacity for art and cultural expression and entrepreneurship that opens a world of opportunities for people in our region,” says Andrew Rosser, Senior Vice President, Operations at Syncrude. “The possibilities for arts discovery, performance, and sales are endless and Syncrude is pleased to support, and encourage others to support, this innovative social enterprise.” 

ACWB is proud to acknowledge Syncrude as an Arts Connector with recognition in the Arts INC Lobby and Pathways, providing a warm welcome and accessibility for all. The pathways are designed to accommodate mobility aids, curving through the facility and leading to purpose-built maker spaces. The pathways are also equipped with hanging systems and lighting, to give local creatives the opportunity to display their work.

 The facility design and construction costing are approved, and construction is ready to commence. The total cost of the Arts INC project is estimated at $16 million. While development grants have been secured, additional support is essential to reach the goal. The $3 million INCredible! Campaign seeks charitable donations from businesses, families, and individuals to advance the Arts INC project.
