Arts Council Wood Buffalo Launches $3 Million INCredible! Fundraising Campaign to Propel Arts INC

Fort McMurray, AB [July 10, 2024] Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) is thrilled to announce the launch of its transformative $3 million INCredible! Fundraising Campaign, propelling Arts INC through dynamic community partnerships and generous support.

Arts Council Wood Buffalo has embarked on an exhilarating journey to establish Arts INC, a cultural powerhouse that drives the creative economy and downtown revitalization. Arts INC is a social enterprise dedicated to igniting both imagination and the local economy, creating a purposeful community space where art and creativity flourish without limits. It will be a hub where artists discover, create, and showcase their work, as well as a centre for residents and visitors to learn and engage through the arts.

Located on Manning Avenue, this innovative facility will feature purpose-built spaces, including the Teaching Circle, personal arts creation rooms, music instruction and performance spaces, meeting and gathering spaces, a Teaching Kitchen, marketplace, and much more. The facility design and construction costing are approved, and construction is ready to commence.

The total cost of the Arts INC project is estimated at $16 million. While development grants have been secured, additional support is essential to reach the goal. The $3 million INCredible! Community fundraising campaign
seeks charitable donations from businesses, families, and individuals to advance the Arts INC project.

“Arts INC is set to become a cornerstone of our community, driving the local economy and revitalizing downtown
Fort McMurray,” says Liana Wheeldon, Executive Director of Arts Council Wood Buffalo. “This facility will not only provide much-needed space for artists to thrive but also contribute significantly to the social and economic fabric of our region.”

Legacy donations that highlight family or business history in the region are encouraged. These gifts allow for the celebration of community accomplishments and investment in future generations of artists, entrepreneurs,
and creatives. Many recognition opportunities are available, including naming rights for rooms and spaces.
