Fort McMurray, AB, October 2, 2024 – Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) is pleased to announce that local contractor Casman has been selected to lead the Phase 1 construction of Arts INC, a transformative project that will serve as a cornerstone for arts and culture in the Wood Buffalo region. This first phase will focus on essential renovations that lay the foundation for Arts INC to become a vibrant hub for creativity, collaboration, and community engagement.
The selection of Casman, a well-established contractor with deep roots in the community, underscores ACWB’s commitment to supporting local businesses and ensuring that Arts INC remains a project that is built for, and by, the Wood Buffalo community.
“We are thrilled to have Casman onboard as the contractor for Phase 1 of Arts INC,” says Liana Wheeldon, Executive Director of Arts Council Wood Buffalo. “Their proven track record and dedication to quality make them an excellent partner as we take the next step toward realizing the vision of Arts INC. This project is truly a community-driven effort, and we are excited to work with Casman in bringing this cultural space to life.”
The Phase 1 renovation, scheduled to begin in Fall 2024, will set the groundwork for a multi-phase project designed to provide dedicated spaces for artists, performers, and cultural organizations to create, collaborate, and showcase their work. Once complete, Arts INC will offer much-needed facilities and resources to support the continued growth of the region’s creative community.
The $3 million INCredible! Campaign is still underway, seeking contributions from businesses, families, and individuals to support the development of Arts INC. Many recognition opportunities are available, including naming rights for rooms and spaces within the new facility.
